When I began my skincare journey, I started with the history of soap. That led me down the path to Aleppo, one of the earliest mentions of soap in our history. Much like a Burgundy wine isn't Burgundy unless it is from Burgundy, France, an Aleppo soap isn't Aleppo unless it is from Aleppo, Syria. Therefore, I have taken inspiration from Aleppo soap to give you a vague piece of the history of soap.

Why is a bar so expensive? This entire batch made very little, and it is all centered around the Laurel Berry oil, which is difficult to source.

What's all that white stuff? In short, it is soda ash, a harmless byproduct of the soap-making process. Sure, it is unsightly in soap with a high aesthetic, but for a soap clinging to its historical roots, the soda ash is in its rightful place. It rinses off on first use.

Aleppo Inspiration ingredients: Olive Oil, Distilled Water, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Laurel Berry Oil, Sodium Hydroxide Lye, Rosemary Essential Oil, Citric Acid, Sodium Lactate, White Kaolin Clay, Sugar

Each bar has a weight of at least 3.8 oz.
